Smudge are a multi-disciplinary team who solve tricky business problems for some of the world's largest companies with mobile technology. After a period of growth, they approached us to help distil their ethos into a new visual identity and web presence that could help them grow.
We created a new brand that reflects Smudge’s core value of balance while being true to their ethos of simplicity, intuitiveness and embracing constraints. These principals informed all aspects of the work from typography, logo, and custom illustrations, to an office fit out, a book project, podcast series, and the company website.
For the website design and development we focused on a mobile-first, responsive design that let the content shine. The site has a number of fun features that include morphing animations, light and dark mode, and a dedicated podcast page with custom audio player.
